Neshannock Creek 10/4

Headed north on a dreary Sunday morning with Sean and Logan. Temps had dropped all week, there had been plenty of rain. Neshannock was a good candidate, especially since they had gotten some fish the week prior.

Started by the dam, my first choice fly was the chernobyl ant, and wham, fish on. This healthy holdover was fooled by the floating foam.
Logan got into some fish with an egg/nymph dropper
Creepy

Sean, nursing a touch of a hangover was fishing hard with the thingamabobber.

Borrowed a copper john from Logan, third or fourth drift and this healthy holdover Brown took off with the size 16 john.

away ya go.

We walked a good ways down stream to work our way back. Had one good rainbow in fast water, and lost another good one in a deep pool. Worked our way back up to my favorite spot just below the bridge. Buggers in all varieties were the ticket.
One rainbow measured 19"
another 18"

Great day on the Neshannock.
First time on that creek for Logan and Sean, I'd imagine they'll be back.
Next week is the One Fly!
